Removal and installation of the engine hood

Withdrawal

Open and lock the engine hood.

Disconnect the ground wire (-) from the battery.

Attention! As a result, data in electronic storage devices, such as an engine fault memory or a radio code, are erased. Please read the section carefully "Removing and installing the battery", before disconnecting it.

If available, remove the engine compartment lighting. To do this, disconnect the plug and remove the lamp socket.

Remove the heat-insulating casing from the inside of the hood, to do this, remove the clamps with a screwdriver.

Disconnect the washer nozzle hoses and close the holes with suitable plugs. Disconnect the hoses from the hood.

Remove the tire mounting bolt "masses" on the left side of the hood.

Mark the location of the hinges with a felt-tip pen. To do this, circle the hinges on the hood with a felt-tip pen.

Remove the hood with an assistant, having previously unscrewed two mounting bolts on each side.

Installation

Establish a cowl on hinges and wrap, without tightening, bolts of fastening.

Correct the position of the hood in accordance with the marks made and tighten the bolts with a torque of 20 Nm.

Install the windshield washer nozzle hose to the hinge and hood clips. Attach the hose to the nozzles.

Install and fix the heat shield.

If available, install engine compartment lighting, connect the electrical wire plug.

Connect the ground wire to the battery terminal (-).

Set the time on the clock.

Set the radio's anti-theft code.

Close the hood and check the uniformity of the air gap along the perimeter of the hood, correct the position of the hood if necessary.

Installing a new hood

Fasten the hood holder bracket with rivets.

Install the hood without a lock and secure without tightening the bolts.

Loosen the mounting bolts and adjust the position of the closed hood so that the gap between the hood and wings is the same and parallel.

Carefully lift the hood and secure it in that position.



Screw on the rubber damper. By turning the shock absorber in and out, the height of the hood relative to the wings is adjusted.

Adjust the position of the hood so that the air gap around the entire perimeter is the same and parallel.

Install and adjust the hood latch.

Install the windshield washer nozzles and the heat shield.

Connect the washer nozzle hoses.

Attach the ground wire to the hood.
