Removal and installation of a forward bumper

Withdrawal

Disconnect the ground wire (-) from the battery.

Attention! As a result, data in electronic storage devices, such as an engine fault memory or a radio code, are erased. Please read the section carefully "Removing and installing the battery", before disconnecting it.

Raise the vehicle.



If equipped, disconnect the bumper headlight wires (fog lights).

If equipped, disconnect the headlight washer hoses and close the openings with suitable plugs.

Turn out on the right and at the left connecting bolts of a bumper/wheel niche.



Turn out four nuts of fastening.



Pull the bumper forward and remove it from the side pins.

Remove the bumper.

Installation

Install the bumper so that its grips fit into the side pins.

Tighten the fastening nuts with a torque of 10 Nm.

Fix the bumper with the wheel arch/bumper connecting bolts.

If equipped, connect the fog light wires and fit the headlight washer hoses.

Lower the car.

Connect the ground wire to the battery terminal (-).

Set the time on the clock.

Set the radio's anti-theft code.
