If the front wheel has a tendency to block, the fluid pressure is too high in relation to the traction force of the wheel with the road, the hydraulic system, based on the signals from the control unit, reduces the pressure in the brake caliper of this wheel. This continues until the wheel receives proper acceleration, then the valve closes again and the caliper pressure is increased to the pressure set by depressing the brake pedal. This process is repeated under hard braking for each individual wheel during the entire period of hard braking, almost to a complete stop of the car. At vehicle speeds below 5 km/h, the ABS system will not function. The safety switch in the control unit ensures that the ABS system switches itself off in the event of a malfunction. In this case, the control lamp on the instrument panel is constantly on when driving. The braking system remains in working order. When braking, the car behaves like a car without ABS. If one brake circuit fails, then the healthy circuit is also controlled with the participation of ABS.
Checking and repair of the ABS system should be carried out at a service station.
Attention! Before carrying out electric welding work, it is necessary to disconnect the plug of the electronic control unit. Disconnect the plug only when the ignition is switched off.
