Steering — design description

            0

The steering system consists of a steering wheel, a steering column, a servo steering gear and tie rods. The steering wheel is mounted on the steering shaft, which is connected to the steering gear. The steering rack reciprocates when the steering wheel is rotated. The rail on each side is connected by ball pins to the tie rods, which transmit the control force through the rod joints and the steering knuckle to the front wheels. Rack and pinion steering provides easy and backlash-free steering from one extreme position to another. The steering does not require maintenance, it is enough to monitor the condition of the seals.

The action of the standard steering is facilitated by hydraulic power steering. Power Steering 'Servo Control) provides the least possible effort applied by the driver during steering action. The power steering system consists of an oil pump, a reservoir and oil lines. The oil pump is driven from the engine by a V-belt. The pump draws oil from the reservoir and supplies it at high pressure to the valve head, which is located on the steering gear. It has a mechanical connection with the steering shaft and supplies oil to the corresponding working cylinder. Oil presses on the rack piston and thus helps it move. At the same time, the oil is squeezed out from the other side through the return pipe to the receiver.

Attention! Always replace self-locking nuts. Welding and straightening works are not allowed on steering parts.
