Wheel replacement

            0

When replacing wheels in places, it is not advisable to change the direction of their rotation, since the wheels will have increased wear in the initial period. On some tires, the direction of rotation is marked on the side of the tire with an arrow.

If the front wheels are more heavily worn, it is recommended to swap them with the rear wheels. Thus, all wheels will have the same service life. Use a torque wrench to tighten the wheel nuts, this will ensure that the wheels are evenly and firmly tightened. Do not replace tires one at a time, replace at least tires of one axle at once. At the same time, install tires with a large tread on the front wheels.

Attention! When replacing or dismantling a tubeless tire, replace the rubber valve for safety reasons.

To protect the wheel from corrosion, coat the centering surface of the wheel hub with a thin layer of grease every time you remove it.

Remove the wheel cap with the plastic tip of the wheel nut wrench.

Before removing the wheel, mark its position on the hub with chalk in order to install it in its original place.

Light metal discs are coated with a colorless varnish for corrosion protection. When unscrewing the wheel, be careful not to damage the coating, otherwise restore the coating with a clear varnish.

For light metal discs, use nuts with built-in rotating washers. The conical washer on the nut prevents damage to the outer surface of the disc when the nut is tightened.

Attention! If the vehicle is fitted with light metal rims while the spare wheel has a steel rim, it is advisable to carry the appropriate nuts for the steel rim.

Clean contaminated nuts and threads.

Tighten the wheel nuts in a criss-cross pattern in several steps.

Attention! One-sided or uneven tightening of the wheel nuts can cause warping of the disc and/or wheel hub. The tightening torque for all nuts must be 100 Nm.
