Automatic transmission: checking the oil level

            0

It is necessary to have in stock: Transmission oil for automatic transmission specification Ford ESP-M2C166-H.

Examination

Warm up the engine after driving about 20 km so that the gearbox oil has a temperature of at least 65°C.

The transmission oil level indicator is located near the brake master cylinder. Gear oil for automatic transmission is also topped up here if necessary.

Place the car without load on a horizontal surface. Apply the parking brake. During the test, the engine should rotate at idle.

While the engine is idling, shift to all positions of the automatic transmission three times.

Set the selector lever to position "R". After that, rotate the engine at idle speed for one minute.

With the engine running at idle, remove the oil level gauge and wipe it with a clean, lint-free cloth, preferably leather. Then fully submerge the pointer, remove it again and read the level.

The oil level on the gauge must be between the marks "MIN" And "MAX".

Use a clean funnel or fine sieve to add oil if necessary. Transmission oil for automatic transmission is topped up through the level indicator tube in the box.

Attention! Do not add too much oil as this can cause malfunctions in the automation. In any case, excess oil must be drained or sucked off with a syringe.

After checking or correcting the oil level, re-enter the full pointer.
