The brake fluid reservoir is located in the engine compartment. It has two chambers, one for each braking circuit. The screw cap of the tank is equipped with a ventilation hole, which must not be clogged. The supply reservoir is transparent so that the brake fluid level can be checked at any time from the outside. In some models, too low a brake fluid level is indicated by a warning light on the dashboard. However, we recommend checking the brake fluid level in the reservoir approximately every 4 weeks.
The brake fluid level with the lid closed should not exceed the mark "MAX" and not below the mark "MIN".
Top up with new Super DOT4 or Ford-ESD-M6C57A brake fluid.
As a result of brake pad wear, the brake fluid level drops slightly. This is normal.
If the brake fluid level drops significantly within a short time, this is a sign of brake fluid leakage. The location of the leak must be identified immediately. As a rule, these are worn cuffs in wheel brake cylinders. For traffic safety, have the brake system checked by a specialized repair shop.
