Replacing the pulse air filter

            0

The pulse air filter is mounted in gasoline engines on the front side of the engine near the exhaust manifold. It refers to a pulse system, in which fresh air is metered into the exhaust gas during the rotation phase of a heated engine, resulting in better afterburning. The filter should be cleaned regularly only when the highway is very dusty. There is no need for a special tool.

The following spare part is required: Filter humidifier oil (Ford aerosol oil).

1 - Pulse air filter / valve body
2 - Pipe for fresh air to enter the exhaust manifold
3 - Pulse air filter / valve body (bottom view)
4 - Air regulation valve
5 - Vacuum hose to control valve
6 - Engine speed/position sensor
7 - Fresh air intake
8 - Lambda probe
9 - Sound insulator
10 - Foam filter
11 - Aluminum cover
12 - Pulse air filter housing (other items according to the top fig.)

Unscrew the parts of the valve body from each other from above.

Pull down the bottom of the housing.

Remove the foam filter inside and inspect. If heavily soiled, wash the filter with gasoline and then dry.

Attention! Dispose of contaminated materials in an environmentally friendly manner.

Spray the filter with air filter oil.

Insert the air filter oil filter.

Insert the foam filter into the bottom of the housing.
