Fuel filter replacement

            0

There is no need for a special tool. The following spare part is required: Fuel filter for the respective engine. When buying, please indicate the model of the car and the year of manufacture.

Diesel engine

An appropriate vessel is required to drain the water.

Attention! Escaping diesel fuel must be removed from the rubber parts immediately (e.g. coolant hoses), otherwise the rubber parts will break down over time.

Dehydration

Place a suitable container under the drain hole -arrow- to catch the draining liquid.

Unscrew the water drain screw plug and allow 100 cm3 of liquid to flow out. At the end, only clean diesel fuel should flow out.

If, after unscrewing the drain plug, no liquid flows out, additionally disconnect the fuel line -1- from the fuel tank. To detach, press the locking tabs of the clip together. Wipe up any escaping diesel fuel with a rag.

Replace the drain screw.

Put on the fuel line, if it was removed.

Bleed the air from the fuel system, see point 7.4.

Remove the container with the drained liquid.

Check the tightness of the fuel device with the engine running.

Filter replacement

Drain the filter completely, as in dehydration.

While holding the filter insert -1-, unscrew the fixing screw -2-. 3 = hand pump.

Remove the filter insert.

Remove the O-rings on the housing -4- from above and below.

Insert new O-rings into the filter housing.

Fill the filter to the brim with diesel fuel and screw it on.

Bleed the air from the fuel system, see point 7.4.

Remove the drip tray and the cover at the bottom of the filter.

After a test drive, check the fuel system for leaks.

Gas engine

When removing the fuel filter, a large amount of fuel can spill out, it requires a container resistant to combustibility.

Withdrawal

Attention! Do not make open flames, fire hazard!

Disconnect the ground wire (-) from the battery.

Attention! As a result, data in electronic storage devices, such as an engine fault memory or a radio code, are erased. Please read the section carefully "Removing and installing the battery", before disconnecting it.

Raise the car from behind.

Place a suitable vessel under the fuel filter. The filter is located near the fuel tank.

Lay a rag around the fuel lines. Disconnect both fuel lines from the filter by pressing together the lugs of the quick coupling -arrows-.

Disconnect the clamping bracket -1- of the fuel filter and remove the filter.

Installation

Insert the fuel filter after removal. The direction of fuel flow is indicated by an arrow. Screw on the clamp.

Put on the inlet and outlet fuel lines.

Connect wire "masses" batteries. Set the clock to the current time and set the anti-theft code for the radio.

Lower the car to the ground.

After a trial run of the engine, check the tightness of the fuel line connections.
