Camshaft/valve drive in a diesel engine

1 - Bearing caps; 2 - Nut for bearing cover, 20 Nm; 3 - Camshaft: check the radial clearance with a Plastigage cord, wear limit 0.08 mm; 4 - Hydraulic poppet: check the camshaft end play before installation; oil the working surfaces; avoid confusion; lay the working surface down; 5 - Conical valve cracker; 6 - Valve spring plate; 7 - Valve spring; 8 - Washer for adjusting valve clearance; 9 - Oil deflector cap; 10 - Valve spring guide; 11 - Cylinder head; 12 - Sealing ring. Drive the ring with a Ford tool or a suitable piece of pipe
