Exhaust gas exhaust system

            0

The exhaust system consists of a front exhaust pipe with a catalyst, a main silencer and an additional silencer. The additional muffler is made of aluminium-coated steel sheet, the internal parts are made of stainless steel to ensure that they do not rust for as long as possible. In gasoline engines, an oxygen sensor is installed in the front exhaust pipe, which is necessary for controlling the catalyst.

The front twin exhaust pipe is equipped with an exhaust manifold, in diesel engines - with a turbocharger. All parts of the exhaust system are screwed together, so you can replace each individual part. During any dismantling, self-locking nuts and seals must be replaced. In case of installation of a new exhaust system, it is recommended to replace all fasteners with new ones, such as rubber holders, rubber elastic elements, etc.

The arrows in the figure are the separation points of the parts of the exhaust system. The factory-installed exhaust system consists of two parts, Ford's replacement exhaust system, and the exhaust system offered by specialty dealers consists of three or four parts.
