The jets inject fuel at regular intervals, i.e. for every revolution of the crankshaft, half of the amount of fuel required for one intake stroke is injected. The valve injects fuel in the form of a cone and closes hermetically immediately after the end of injection. Leaky valves cause problems when starting a hot engine. Defective jets can lead to spontaneous operation and shutdown of the engine.

Start the engine and let it idle.

Using a stethoscope, check with the engine running to see if each individual valve clicks. This clatter is caused by the opening and closing of the jet.

If there is no stethoscope, then with a screwdriver or a finger you can feel if the jet is working.

If very strong operating noises or their complete absence are detected, check the plug connection, the presence of a signal from the control device and the resistance of the jet (work being done in the workshop).
