Removal and installation of a back seat

The rear seat cushion and backrest consist of two parts, each of which can be removed individually. The removal of the left side of the pillow is shown, the right side is removed in the same way. Both parts of the backrest of the rear seat are combined into a common unit by a middle hinge for reclining them. Therefore, the rear seat backrest can only be removed as an assembly without separating its parts.

You will need: TORX T50 and TORX T55 wrenches.



1. Turn out two bolts of fastening of hinges of the left part of a pillow of a back seat to the basis of a body …



2.... and remove the left side of the pillow from the car.

3. Similarly, remove the right side of the pillow by unscrewing the two bolts securing its hinge to the base of the body.




4. Turn out two bolts of forward fastening of the average hinge of a back of a back seat to the base of a body …

Note. The bolts of the front fastening of the middle hinge of the back of the rear seat simultaneously attach the seat belt buckles to the base of the body.

5.... two bolts of the rear mounting of the middle hinge..



6.... and two bolts for fastening the left and right back hinges.


7. Unfasten the locks of fastening parts of the rear seat back to the body, as described in Sec. 1 «Vehicle device» (see «rear seats»), and remove the backrest from the vehicle.



8. If it is necessary to remove the latch of the rear seat back lock, remove the middle and upper upholstery of the sidewall (see «Removal and installation of trunk upholstery») …



9.... and unscrew the five bolts of its fastening to the sidewall.

Note. The removal of the latch of the rear seat back lock is described in detail in subsection «Replacing the rear seat belt».

10. Install the parts in the reverse order of removal.
