Use of child seats

According to the requirements of the Rules of the Road, children under 12 years of age must be transported in special child seats.

For information about the types of child seats and the places in the car where they can be installed, see table. 1.6.

Table 1.6. Permissibility of installing child seats

Legend:

• X - not suitable for children of this weight category;
• U - suitable for universal safety devices for children of this weight category;
• U1 - suitable for universal safety devices for children in this weight category. The manufacturer recommends using an approved child restraint device and attaching it to the rear seat.

Attention! Deactivate the passenger airbag when installing a child seat in the front passenger seat (if available). The switch is located on the right side of the instrument panel.

Categories 0 and 0+ (up to 13 kg)

Until the age of two, a child's neck is very fragile. Transport children in rear-facing basket seats. This position provides maximum safety.

Category I (9–18 kg)

For transporting children from 2 to 4 years old, use an all-round seat that allows you to support the child with a special child seat belt or a special elastic cushion.

Category II (15–25 kg) and III (22–36 kg)

For children under 12, use a cushion-style child seat with belt guides to ensure that the seat belt slides over the child's thighs without twisting.
