The arrangement of devices, alarm and control lamps in a combination of devices is shown in fig. 1.7.

1 - tachometer shows the engine speed. The scale has divisions from 0 to 7, the division price is 0.5. To determine the crankshaft speed in min^-1, you need to multiply the tachometer readings by 1000. The red scale zone is a dangerous operating mode for the engine.

2 – signal lamp of malfunction of the power unit. For vehicles with a manual transmission, the flashing of the signaling device indicates a malfunction in the engine, while the engine power parameters are deteriorating. If the lamp stays on, it indicates the need to stop the engine.

For vehicles with an automatic transmission, the warning light indicates a malfunction or an increase in temperature in the transmission. In this case, move the box selector to the position «P» or «N» and let the engine idle for 10 minutes.

3 – a signal lamp of system of course stability (ESP). The burning of the signaling device indicates a malfunction of the system when it is activated. In this case, the system will automatically turn off. If the ESP system is manually deactivated, the warning light will also come on.


4 – signal lamp of malfunction of system of pillows of safety and pretensioners of seat belts lights up for 3 s, confirming that the system is working. If the warning light comes on while driving, it indicates a system malfunction.

Attention! Do not operate a vehicle with a defective airbag system.

5 – a control lamp of inclusion of the left index of turn (in the form of an arrow with a green filter) lights up with a flashing light when the left turn signal is turned on (in sync with it). The blinking of the control lamp with a doubled frequency indicates a lamp burnout in any left turn indicator.

6 - coolant temperature gauge in the engine cooling system. The red zone warns of engine overheating. If the arrow goes into the red zone, you should stop, let the engine cool down and eliminate the cause of overheating.

7 – a control lamp of an immobilizer of the engine (car theft protection system, prevents the engine from starting from an incorrectly programmed key).

Attention! If the control lamp does not go out when the ignition is turned on, turn off the ignition, remove the key and repeat the procedure. If after repeated attempts it is not possible to start the engine, contact a service station, where they will help to eliminate the malfunction.

8 - fuel level indicator of the electromagnetic principle of operation. The red zone means the reserve fuel balance.

Attention! If possible, avoid driving on reserve fuel. The operation of the electric fuel pump in the absence of a continuous supply of fuel with air entering the system will lead to the failure of the pump!

9 – a control lamp of inclusion of the right index of turn (in the form of an arrow with a green filter) lights up with a flashing light when the right turn signal is turned on (in sync with it). The blinking of the control lamp with a double frequency indicates a lamp burnout in any right turn indicator.

10 - battery discharge warning light lights up when the ignition is turned on and goes out immediately after starting the engine. The lamp burning or glowing half-heartedly with the engine running indicates a lack of charging current caused by a malfunction of the generator or voltage regulator, as well as weak tension (or a cliff) generator drive belt.

Attention! It is forbidden to drive a car with a burning lamp, since, in addition to completely discharging the battery, this may indicate a short circuit in the charging circuit, which can lead to a fire.

11 – a control lamp of inclusion of dimensional light lights up when the side light is turned on.

12 – a control lamp of inclusion of a high beam of headlights lights up when the high beam headlights are on.

13 - signal lamp of the danger of icing lights up in orange at an ambient temperature of +1 to +4°C. When the ambient air temperature is below +1°C, the indicator lights up red.

14 - speedometer Shows how fast the car is currently moving. The scale is graduated from 0 to 210 km/h, the division value is 10 km/h.

15 - signal lamp of open doors lights up if any door is not closed or not completely closed.

16 – a control lamp of inclusion of back fog lamps lights up when the rear fog lights are on.


17 – a signal lamp of the minimum reserve of fuel constantly lit when the remaining fuel in the tank is about 6.5 liters.

Attention! If possible, avoid driving on reserve fuel. The operation of the electric fuel pump in the absence of a continuous supply of fuel with air entering the system will lead to the failure of the pump!

18 – a signal lamp of an emergency condition of brake system. Lights up when the ignition is turned on and goes out after starting the engine. If the lamp comes on when the engine is running, it indicates that the brake fluid level has dropped below the mark «MIN» on the brake master cylinder reservoir.

Attention! The operation of a vehicle with a faulty brake system is strictly prohibited.

19 - button for selecting messages on the information display.

20 - liquid crystal display (pic. 1.8). Top line 1 optionally displays fuel range or hours, line 2 - daily mileage, line 3 - total vehicle mileage.

Depending on the configuration, an on-board computer can be installed on the car (see «Trip computer»), then the functions of the on-board computer are displayed on the liquid crystal display.




21 - button for resetting the information display.

22 - signal lamp for emergency oil pressure drop lights up when the ignition is switched on and warns that the pressure in the engine lubrication system is below normal.

When the engine is running, a lit signal lamp and a constant (within 5 s) the buzzer signal indicates insufficient pressure in the engine lubrication system.

Attention! Operating a vehicle with a faulty lubrication system can cause serious engine damage.

23 – a control lamp of the electroamplifier of a steering lights up orange when the ignition is switched on and goes out after the engine is started.

Attention! If the power steering warning light comes on with the engine running, it indicates a problem with the power steering that needs to be repaired. Operating a vehicle with faulty steering is life threatening.

24 - control lamp off overdrive lights up when OVERDRIVE mode is enabled.

25 - control lamp for turning on glow plugs (only for vehicles with diesel engine) lights up when the glow plugs are turned on.

26 – a control lamp of inclusion of forward antifog headlights lights up when the front fog lights are on.

27 - signal lamp «CHECK ENGINE». Lights up in orange when the ignition is switched on and goes out after the engine is started.

Note. Burning signal lamp «CHECK ENGINE» when the engine is running indicates a malfunction of the engine management system (fuel injection systems). This does not mean that the engine must be stopped immediately: the engine management system switches to emergency modes, allowing the engine to operate in conditions close to normal. However, the cause of the malfunction should be tried to be eliminated as soon as possible, since prolonged operation of the car with a burning lamp can lead to an increase in fuel consumption, a deterioration in the traction characteristics of the car and engine breakdowns.

28 - signal lamp for a malfunction of the anti-lock braking system (ABS). The lamp lights up orange when the ignition is switched on and goes out after the engine is started. If the lamp stays on while the engine is running, it indicates a malfunction of the anti-lock braking system.

Attention! In all other cases, the ignition of the anti-lock braking system warning light indicates a malfunction that must be eliminated at specialized car service stations, since in all cases braking occurs without the participation of the anti-lock braking system.
