The clutch pedal stroke is checked to assess the technical condition of the clutch and to determine the reasons for its abnormal operation (clutch «leads», «slips» and so on.).
1. Without pressing the pedal, measure the distance between the pedal pad and the floor mat of the body.
2. Without changing the position of the ruler, press the pedal to the stop and again measure the distance between the pedal pad and the rug. The difference between the two measurements should be (139±3) mm. Pedal travel is not adjustable. Significant travel deviation from the specified value, accompanied by abnormal clutch operation («slippage», «conducting», jerks at the moment of starting off), indicates damage to the clutch or drive to turn it off. If the stroke deviates slightly from the specified value, a properly functioning clutch can continue to be used.
