Clutch Master Cylinder Replacement

You will need: Flat and Phillips screwdrivers, pliers, wrench «on 10», socket wrench «at 13».



1. Remove the cap from the master cylinder reservoir..



2.... and pump out the brake fluid from the section of the reservoir of the main brake cylinder that feeds the hydraulic clutch release, for example, with a large medical syringe.

Note. The reservoir, common to the master brake and clutch release cylinders, consists of three separate sections: two for separate hydraulic brake circuits and one for the hydraulic clutch release.




3. Remove the battery tray (see «Removal and installation of an arm of the shelf of fastening of the storage battery»).




4. Squeeze out the retainer of the tip of the supply pipeline of the clutch release hydraulic actuator with a screwdriver and disconnect the hose from the fitting.



5. Similarly disconnect the pipeline of the working cylinder of coupling.



6. Disconnect the harness connector from the brake pedal position sensor and move the harness to the side.




7. Prying off the retainer of the brake light switch wiring harness block with a screwdriver..



8.... disconnect the block and take the harness to the side.



9. Remove the retaining bracket for the clutch pedal position sensor wiring harness block..



10.... disconnect the block and take the harness to the side.




11. Squeezing the brake booster pusher fork pins, remove the pin.



12. Turn out two nuts of fastenings of fastening of an arm of a pedal assembly to a body (for clarity, the holes of the studs are shown on the removed pedal assembly) …



13.... four nuts of the vacuum booster mounting studs and remove the pedal assembly from the car.




14. Using pliers, disconnect the ends of the return spring from the pedal arm and pedal assembly bracket.



15. Squeezing the clamps of the pusher finger of the clutch slave cylinder..



16.... remove your finger.



17. Turn out two bolts of fastening of the main cylinder of coupling to an arm of a pedal assembly..



18.... slightly pull the clutch pedal..



19.... and remove the clutch release master cylinder from the pedal assembly bracket.

20. Install the clutch release master cylinder and all previously removed parts in reverse order.
