Replacing gearbox seals

You will need: flat blade screwdriver, hammer, mandrel.

1. To replace the axle oil seal, drain the oil from the gearbox (see «Changing the oil in the gearbox»).

2. Remove the front wheel drive from the side of the oil seal to be replaced (see «Removal and installation of front wheel drives»).



3. Remove the oil seal with a screwdriver.



4. Lubricate the seal lip with gear grease and press it with a mandrel of suitable diameter with the seal lip inside the box.

5. Install the front wheel drive (see «Removal and installation of front wheel drives»).

6. Fill the gearbox with oil (see «Changing the oil in the gearbox»).



7. The input shaft oil seal is replaced on the gearbox removed from the car after removing the clutch release actuator slave cylinder with the clutch release bearing (see «Replacement of the working cylinder of the clutch release actuator with the clutch release bearing»). Remove the seal with a screwdriver (or specially made wire hook).



8. Lubricate the seal lip with transmission grease and press it with a mandrel of suitable diameter with the seal lip inside the box.
