Replacing the rear wheel speed sensor

Attention! The brake fluid in the rear brake circuit is under high pressure. Do not press the brake pedal.


Withdrawal



1. Loosen the nuts on the corresponding rear wheel.

2. Raise the car and remove the wheel.

3. Release the hand brake lever.

4. Raise the rear seat and tilt the floor covering forward.



5. Remove the wire from the bracket and disconnect the electrical connector (indicated by an arrow) from the wheel speed sensor.

6. Disconnect the handbrake cable from the caliper on the rear suspension arm.

7. Remove the front brake caliper mounting bolt.

8. Turn the caliper up.

9. Unscrew the sensor mounting bolt and remove it.

Installation



1. Clean the wheel speed sensor mounting socket from dirt, rust, etc.

2. Lightly lubricate the sensor mounting socket with bearing grease.

3. Install a new O-ring on the sensor.

4. Perform the same initial steps as described for installing the front wheel speed sensor in the subsection 11.6.6, and then reverse the steps for removing the rear wheel speed sensor.
