Replacing the front caliper

Withdrawal



1. Remove brake pads (see subsection 11.2.1).

2. Disconnect the flexible brake hose connection from the caliper and plug the connection holes with suitable plugs.

3. Unscrew the bolts securing the caliper holder to the wheel steering knuckle.

4. Remove the caliper holder and the caliper itself.

Repair



1. Remove support.

2. Push the piston out with compressed air through the brake fluid inlet to the caliper after installing the safety block of wood in the caliper.



3. Remove the protective elastic cover.



4. Remove piston gasket.

5. Wash the piston and cylinder with alcohol or brake fluid.

6. Install a new gasket and protective cover on the piston.

7. Lubricate the piston with special grease.

8. Insert the piston into the cylinder in the caliper and install the casing.

9. Install the brake caliper.

Installation



1. Screw the caliper holder to the wheel knuckle.

2. Connect the brake hose connection to the caliper.

3. Install brake pads.

4. Remove air from the brake system.
