Steering gear bolt
The bolt is indicated by an arrow.
Withdrawal
1. Set the steering wheel to the straight ahead position.
2. Unscrew the bolt of the clamping collar of the flexible joint flange and disconnect the steering wheel shaft from the steering gear.
3. Raise the vehicle and remove the front wheels.
4. Remove the cotter pins and unscrew the castellated nuts of the tie rod ball joints.
5. Detach tie rods from steering knuckles using puller 13.006.
6. Unscrew the high pressure lines from the transmission housing and drain the oil from the hydraulic system.
7. Unscrew the low pressure line from the transmission housing.
8. Unscrew the two bolts securing the steering gear housing to the body cross member and remove the steering gear.
Installation
1. Install the steering gear housing in the appropriate place and screw in the two bolts securing the steering gear housing to the body cross member.
2. Connect the hydraulic lines, installing new gaskets on the connections.
3. Connect the tie rods to the steering knuckles of the wheels.
4. Tighten all screw connections to the appropriate torque.
5. Install the front wheels and lower the vehicle.
6. Fill with oil and bleed air from the steering system.
7. Check and, if necessary, adjust the camber/toe-in.
