Removal and installation of a steering wheel

Models up to April 1992

1. Remove ground wire from battery.

2. Remove the horn button from the center of the steering wheel with a lever.

3. Remove the three screws that secure the horn switch plate. Remove the plate and disconnect the wires.

4. Lock the steering column lock, then unscrew the steering wheel nut.

5. Mark the position of the steering wheel to the shaft, then remove the steering wheel.



6. Remove intermediate ring (indicated by an arrow), located under the steering wheel.

Models since April 1992

The steering wheel is removed similarly to earlier models, except that the steering wheel is bolted on.
