Engines from September 1986 have been fitted with a modified carburetor that includes a secondary choke baffle to reduce fuel consumption. If an upgraded carburetor is to be fitted to an earlier model, always use a new gasket and proceed as follows:
  • connect the connector with a special cable;
  • disconnect the positive wire from the ignition coil and connect the terminals of the new cable to the positive contact of the coil and the disconnected positive potential wire;
  • Connect the braid ground pin to one of the ignition coil mounting screws.
