1. Unscrew the rear main bearing cap (№1) crankshaft.
2. Fit the side seals onto the rear main bearing cap, holding them with special tool 21.085 and attach the cover to the tool.
3. Lubricate the surfaces of the side seals with engine oil and press the entire assembly against the cylinder block. Install rear main bearing cap bolts and tighten to 110 Nm.
4. Check if the crankshaft rotates freely in the bearings.
5. Trim the ends of the side seals so that they protrude 0.5 mm from the bottom plane of the cylinder block. Use the 0.5 mm thick metal bar supplied with the special tool.
