Cylinder head
1 - oil supply pipes to the camshaft cams, 2 - camshaft bearing caps, 3 - camshaft controlling intake valves, 4 - camshaft controlling exhaust valves, 5 - cylinder head, 6 - camshaft sprockets
1. Position the cylinder head at the front and rear on two pieces of wood.
2. Remove intake manifold with fuel system and coolant outlet pipe (if not removed before).
3. Unscrew the thermal shroud and then the exhaust manifold.
4. Unscrew the studs securing both collectors.
5. Remove hydraulic valve lifters and place them in appropriate oil containers for later re-installation in their places (if not removed before).
6. Compress the valve springs in order with a special tool and remove the crackers securing the upper thrust plate of the spring. Remove the top plate and valve springs, being careful not to damage the valve stems.
7. Remove valve from combustion chamber side.
8. Remove the valve stem seals from the valve guides.
