Octane pitch connector
The connector is indicated by an arrow.
Arrangement of elements of regulation of a delay of ignition
1 - grounding point (ignition coil screw), 2 - connector, 3 - ungrounded wires
All models have the ability to reduce the ignition timing up to six degrees without changing the position of the ignition distributor. The adjustment is designed to use the wrong grade of fuel.
Adjustment is made by grounding one or two wires (sometimes called "octane regulation"), that terminate in the multi-pin connector next to the ignition coil.
As a result of this adjustment, the dynamic characteristics and efficiency of the engine will decrease. After filling the fuel of the required grade, the adjustment must be returned to its original position.
Grounding the yellow control wire increases the idle speed by 75 rpm (OHC) or 50 rpm (V6).
