DOHC engine idle control valve
The idle speed control valve is indicated by an arrow.
OHC and V6 engines
1. Remove ground wire from battery.
2. Remove connector (indicated by an arrow) from the control valve by bending the retaining clip.
3. Unscrew the two fixing nuts (HE IS WITH) (or bolt on V6 engine) and remove valve (indicated by an arrow).
4. If necessary, unscrew the two screws and remove the coil from the valve.
5. Reinstall the valve using a new gasket and tighten the nuts or bolts.
6. Connect the connector and battery ground wire.
7. Start the engine and check the stability of idling.
8. Warm up the engine to operating temperature, turn on all electrical consumers and check that the idle speed has remained stable.
DOHC engine
9. Remove ground wire from battery.
10. Loosen the clamp and disconnect the air intake hose from the throttle.
11. Unscrew the fastening nut and disconnect the air intake tube from the bracket on the front panel of the engine compartment.
12. Remove the connector from the control valve by prying off the retaining clip.
13. Disconnect the air filter cover clips, remove the air intake tube, overpressure chamber and air filter cover as one assembly by disconnecting the crankcase ventilation hose from the air intake tube.
14. Unscrew the two mounting bolts and remove the valve from the air intake tube.
15. Installation is made in sequence, return to removal.
16. Start the engine and check the stability of idling.
17. Warm up the engine to operating temperature, turn on all electrical consumers and check that the idle speed has remained stable.
