The order of tightening the cylinder head bolts
Laying of a lining of a cover of a head of the block of cylinders
1. Clean the gasket contact surfaces on the upper plane of the cylinder block and the lower plane of the cylinder head.
2. Screw the dowel pins into the cylinder block (attachment 21.003) and install a new cylinder head gasket (see fig. Laying of a lining of a cover of a head of the block of cylinders).
3. Install the cylinder head. Screw its bolts into the accessible holes by hand, replace the dowel pins with the rest of the cylinder head bolts.
4. Tighten cylinder head bolts (attachment 21.002) in the first three stages, observing the appropriate tightening order (see fig. The order of tightening the cylinder head bolts).
5. Install the pulleys on the crankshaft and camshaft in accordance with the installation marks.
6. Install the ignition distributor, toothed belt and unlock the toothed belt tensioner.
Attention! After installing the timing belt, you can rotate the crankshaft only in the direction in which the shaft rotates when the engine is running.
7. Install the cylinder head cover and tighten the bolts in the recommended order (see fig. Tightening order for cylinder head cover bolts).
8. Screw in the spark plugs, screw on the toothed belt guard and connect the exhaust pipe to the exhaust manifold.
9. Install the high voltage distributor on the ignition distributor and connect the high voltage wires to the appropriate spark plugs.
10. Connect the vacuum hose to the carburetor and the coolant supply and return lines to the carburetor automatic starter body.
11. Connect transmission breather line to oil separator.
12. Connect the brake booster line and accelerator pedal cable.
13. Connect the hoses: upper and lower to the expansion tank and fill the cooling system with liquid to the appropriate level.
14. Connect the vehicle ground wire to the battery and install the lower casing.
15. Start the engine and warm it up to operating temperature.
16. Adjust the ignition timing, idle speed and CO concentration in the exhaust gases.
17. After the engine is warm, remove the cylinder head cover and disconnect the high voltage wires from the spark plugs.
18. Tighten cylinder head bolts (attachment 21.002) in the order shown in Fig. The order of tightening the cylinder head bolts.
19. Install the cylinder head cover, observing the correct sequence during tightening (see fig. Tightening order for cylinder head cover bolts) and connect the high voltage wires to the spark plugs.
20. Install the air filter.
