Installing the oil pan, water pump and crankshaft pulley

The sequence of tightening the bolts of the oil pan

1. Clean the contact surfaces of the crankcase and sump. The grooves in the seal carriers must be clean.

2. Install the rubber seals in the grooves of the holders.

3. Apply a layer of sealant to the grooves and install the gasket tongues into the grooves of the rubber seals.

4. Make sure that the holes in the gasket line up with the holes on the contact surface of the crankcase. Reinstall the pallet, make sure that the gasket does not move.

5. Install the pan mounting bolts and tighten them in two steps to the correct torque.

6. Install a new gasket on the drive cover and install the water pump. Install thermostat and thermostat housing. Connect the rear water pipe.

7. Apply sealant to the crankshaft pulley washer. Install the pulley, washer and mounting bolt. Tighten the bolt according to the tightening torque.

8. Install all connections and oil pressure sensors.

9. Attach the bypass hose to the coolant pump rear connection.

10. If designed, place the oil heat exchanger on the cylinder block with a new seal, then insert the bushing and tighten it so that the heat exchanger tubes are rotated at the desired angle.
