Clutch pedal

1 - latch, 2 - spring, 3 - axle and latch retainer, 4 - bushing, 5 - clutch pedal, 6 - toothed sector tension spring, 7 - toothed sector

The lock of the automatic mechanism can be blocked on the gear sector of the clutch pedal, especially if there is significant wear. In this case, there will be no free play of the cable, which will lead to slippage of the clutch and significantly accelerate the wear of the linings. To check the mechanism, it is necessary to open the hood and sharply pull the cable sheath out of the bulkhead, which will lead to cable tension and rotation of the toothed segment. During normal operation of the mechanism, clicks are heard from the latch moving along the toothed segment, and when the cable sheath is released, the mechanism takes its original position. If the latch is jammed, it is impossible to pull the cable sheath out of the bulkhead.

If jamming occurs, removing the clutch cable is problematic.

The first option for removing the cable: apply force to the release lever to disconnect the cable.

The second is to cut the cable, however, it must be remembered that the shutdown lever will immediately return back.

Pulling the cable from the front bulkhead sometimes eliminates jamming, but it is advisable in this case to replace the mechanism with a new one.
