Centering the clutch disc
Before installing a new clutch drive plate, completely remove the protective grease.
1. Thoroughly clean the splines of the gearbox input shaft and the internal splines of the driven disk, as well as the guide sleeve of the release bearing.
2. Lubricate the splines of the gearbox input shaft and the release bearing guide bushing with a thin, even layer of FORD Special Grease #5021439.
Attention! The lubrication layer must be thin and even, as otherwise, during clutch operation, excess lubricant will be thrown onto the clutch working surfaces and may impair clutch operation.
3. Install the drive and driven discs on the flywheel and center with a mandrel.
Attention! The flat side of the driven disc with the inscription "Fly wheel side" or "Schwungradseite" should point towards the flywheel.
4. Tighten the clutch drive plate mounting bolts in a diagonal pattern and finally tighten to the required torque.
5. Remove centering mandrel.
