Replacement of a sealing ring of a gear wheel of the main transfer

The replacement of the sealing ring of the final drive gear is carried out without removing the rear axle.

1. Raise the car.

2. Detach the propeller shaft from the final drive gear flange and hang the shaft from the body.



3. Using special tool 15.030, unscrew the nuts securing the final drive gear flange.



4. Remove the flange from the final drive gear using a suitable puller.

5. Remove the sealing ring of the gear using tool 15.072.

6. Install a new O-ring using tool 15.047 A (do not wipe the factory grease from the sealing lip of the ring).

7. Install the flange on the final drive gear, put on the flange fastening nut and tighten it with special tool 15.030.

8. Attach the propeller shaft to the final drive gear flange.
