Removal and installation of the crank mechanism of the window lifter (Scorpio I)

Withdrawal



Remove door trim see p. 135.

Remove the black plastic clips from the door edge. Carefully peel off the protective film.

Attention: The film tears very easily.


Power window model: Disconnect the power window motor connector.

While holding the window pane firmly, unscrew the two screws securing the glass to the lifting mechanism, see previous chapter.

Carefully insert a wooden wedge between the window glass and the inner window frame to prevent the glass from sliding down.



Remove bolts -B- for window glass guide.

Drill out 4 rivets -C- securing the lifting mechanism to the door leaf. And - rivets of fastening of an electric window regulator.

Remove the lifting mechanism through the large lower opening.

Installation



Insert the lifting mechanism through the large lower opening into the door.

Install the window glass guide bolts and tighten by hand.

Align the rivet holes and secure the lifting mechanism with four rivets.

Tighten the lifting mechanism mounting bolts.

Attention: The rear bolt must be at the bottom of the elongated hole.


Align the window glass and fasten with two screws to the lifting mechanism.


Attention: The screws must be at the bottom of the elongated holes.


Model with electric window lifter: connect the power window motor plug connector.

Glue the protective film without wrinkles. Seal the torn places with a wide adhesive tape.

Attention: If the protective film is not glued correctly, a draft will occur in the passenger compartment when the car is moving.
