Removal and installation of window glass (Scorpio II)

Removal is basically the same as for the SCORPIO model made before 8/94, see p. 136.

The following describes only the differences that the new model should pay attention to.

Withdrawal

Remove door trim see p. 142.



At the inner rubber seal of the door shaft, press both lugs, then press the rubber seal upwards.

Attention: The fastening of the window glass guide rail at the front door does not need to be unscrewed.

Rear door, unscrew the fastening of the rear window glass guide rail and remove the guide rail.



Remove the 2 window rail mounting bolts. Move the window glass up and jam it so that it does not fall down. Lower the power window mechanism carefully.


Release the window pane from the window guide by turning and remove it from the door.

Installation

Bring the window glass into the door and insert it into the window guide.

Rear door, attach the guide and screw it with two bolts.

Attention: The position of the window glass guides is adjustable. Check if the window pane opens and closes easily after tightening the rail fixing bolts. If the window pane is hard to move, try adjusting the guides first.

Raise the window glass with the lifting mechanism and insert both screws securing the glass to the power window rail. Insert the screws in such a way that they enter the longitudinal hole of the lifting mechanism shaft from below.

Place the inner rubber seal in the installation position and carefully press it into the door frame with your palms.

Press both ends against the rubber seal of the door shaft.

Glue the protective film without wrinkles. Seal the torn places with a wide adhesive tape.

Attention: If the protective film is not glued correctly, a draft will occur in the passenger compartment when the car is moving.

Attention: for models with electric window regulator: If the window regulator / window glass was removed or the battery was disconnected, the control unit must again "познакомиться" with the position of the window pane. To do this, open the window completely and keep the switch pressed for more than one second in this position. Then close the window completely and keep the switch pressed again in this position for more than one second.
