Incorrect tire wear

Uneven tire wear is mostly the result of too low or too high tire pressure. It can also be caused by incorrect adjustment or balancing of the wheels, as well as poor condition of the shock absorbers or rims.

First of all, it is necessary to pay attention to the compliance of the tire pressure with the prescribed value, and it is necessary to check the tire pressure at least once every 4 weeks.

Only check pressure when tires are cold. The fact is that when driving fast, the heating of the tires increases and the pressure in them increases. However, it will be completely wrong to bleed air from tires heated in this way.

If the tire pressure is too high, the middle part of the tread wears out more, since it bends more with high pressure inside the tire.

When the tire pressure is too low, the shoulders of the treads adhere more strongly to the road surface, while the middle part of the tread flexes inwards. The result is increased wear on the tread shoulders.

It is normal for the front wheels to have slightly increased wear on the tread shoulders compared to their middle. Moreover, due to the slope of the roadway, the wear of the tread shoulders facing the middle part of the road may be more pronounced (for the left wheel - from the outside, for the right wheel - from the inside).

The sawtooth wear of the protectors is usually caused by overloading the car.

Wheel misalignment and imbalance also cause the typical tire wear pattern indicated in the troubleshooting.
