Checking the heating of the rear window and windshield

With the heating of the rear window or windshield switched on, the glass field with conductors should be freed from fogging or ice after a while.

In the event of a malfunction, first check the condition of the fuse in the fuse box.

If the fuse is in order, then check the reliability of the contacts of the plug connectors on the left and right at the rear window glass, if necessary, clean the contacts from corrosion.

If the filaments of the rear window glass are damaged, the electrical circuit can be repaired by applying a standard electrically conductive silver base varnish.

Since the windshield filaments are located in a protective film between the outer and inner parts of the glass, it is not possible to repair broken filaments using electrically conductive varnish. Therefore, if a break occurs, the windshield must be replaced.
