Note: The special tool HAZET 4051-1 or FORD 32-006 is required to check the angle of the wiper blade.
Examination
Move the wiper arm to its original position. To do this, moisten the windshield with water, turn on the wiper for a short time and turn it off using the switch.
Remove the wiper blade see p. 183.
Insert wiper arm -2- into special tool and secure with bolt -3-.
Carefully place the lever together with the tool on the glass. Make sure that the tool is adjacent to the glass with all three reference points.
Read the windshield wiper arm angle from the scale on the instrument.
Specified tilt angle value for the wiper arm:
- at the windshield (all car models): -3°
- at the rear window of the TURNER model: -4°
- at the rear window of the sloping rear model: -7°
Adjustment
If the measured angle of inclination does not correspond to the prescribed value, carefully turn the tool with the wrench -1- until the prescribed value is displayed on the scale.
Attention: When turning the tool with a lever from the glass, lift it so as not to damage the glass.
Remove the tool from the wiper arm, put it back on and lock it. Recheck the angle of inclination, repeat the adjustment if necessary. Repeat this process until the prescribed lever angle is reached.
Remove the adjusting tool and install the wiper blade.
Moisten the windshield with water and operate the wipers. Check the wiper blades for rattling, repeat the adjustment process if necessary.
