Withdrawal
Moisten the windshield with water. Operate the windshield wiper for about one minute and turn it off using the switch. As a result of this, the wiper blades will stop in their original position.
Mark the original position of the wiper blades on the windshield with adhesive tape. To do this, stick a strip of adhesive tape on the glass directly next to the wiper blade. When installing the wiper arm, it is put on the pins of the support in a position where the brush is located directly next to the strip of adhesive tape.
Disconnect ground wire (-) battery.
Caution: Disconnecting the battery will erase the contents of the electronic memories, such as engine trouble codes or radio codes. Before switching off, also read the instructions in chapter "Removing and installing the battery".
Remove wiper arms. To do this, fold back the plastic caps -C-.
Loosen securing nuts -D- by approx. 2 turns.
Raise the levers from the glass (position -A-) and flip up (position -B-). Swinging the levers to the sides -arrows-, move them from the cones of the supports. Use a HAZET 1966-5 impact screwdriver to move the firmly seated levers.
Lower the wiper arms back onto the windshield. Unscrew the hex nuts from the supports and remove the levers.
Remove fairing grille, see p. 131/140.
Unscrew bolts -arrows- for wiper arms.
Disconnect the multi-pin connector of the wiper motor and remove the rods as a whole.
Using an open-ended wrench, wring out the rods from the spherical heads.
Installation
Push the rods onto the corresponding spherical heads and secure with pliers.
Install the rods in the mounting position, screw in and tighten the mounting bolts.
Connect the multi-pin connector.
Install fairing grille, see p. 131/140.
Install the wiper arms. To do this, align the levers with the strips of adhesive tape on the glass and push them onto the supports.
Install spring washers and tighten levers with nuts to 10 Nm.
Connect ground wire to battery (-).
If available, set the clock and enter the anti-theft code for the radio.
Moisten the windshield with water. Turn on the wipers and check their operation, if necessary, replace the wiper blades.
Attention: After checking the operation of the windshield wipers at the 1st and 2nd speeds on wet glass, tighten the lever fastening nuts with a torque of 10 Nm.
