Anti-corrosion protection of the bottom of the body and hidden internal cavities

            0

The entire bottom, including the rear wheel arches, has a PVC (PVC) coating. Particularly severely damaged areas near the front wheel arches are additionally protected against stone impacts by a plastic lining. All hidden body cavities have a special hard coating. In addition, some body parts are made of galvanized sheet. Before the cold season and after washing the bottom, it is necessary to check the condition of the protective coating of the bottom. Clean damaged areas and coat with a solid anti-corrosion agent.

At the base of the body in the area of wheel rotation, dust, clay and sand can be deposited. Removing accumulated dirt, which in winter can also contain salt, is very important.

Protection of the engine compartment with anti-corrosion agents

To prevent corrosion of the front of the car (e.g. side parts, spars and bulkheads) and the power unit, the engine compartment and the parts of the brake system, front axle and steering contained in it must be treated with a high-quality solid preservative. Under all circumstances, this should, of course, be done after washing the engine.

Attention: Before washing the engine, it is necessary to cover the alternator and the brake fluid reservoir with plastic bags.

The alternator bearings are protected against water, but cleaning, which can be done with a steamer, for example, risks the bearings being leached due to oil-dissolving additives. This can result in undesirable phenomena such as bearing noise or even bearing failure. After treatment with a solid preservative, clean all hinges and hinges and treat with MoS2 grease.
