Checking and replacing the V-ribbed belt and toothed belt

Poly V-belt check

No special tool required.

Necessary parts for replacement: V-ribbed belt or for the ONS engine, respectively, a V-belt. The length of the belt depends on the type of engine, when buying a replacement belt, this must be taken into account.

Too little V-belt tension leads to increased wear or failure of the V-belt. If the tension is too high, the bearing of the associated accessory may fail.

The V-ribbed belt must be replaced if at least one of the following defects is found: excessive wear, fringing on the sides. traces of oil, porosity, transverse cracks.

Toothed belt replacement

The toothed belt is available only for ONS engines. If the work is not done correctly, the engine may be seriously damaged. Therefore, the operating instructions must be followed exactly. Replacing the toothed belt is described in the section "Engine".
