- at ambient temperatures above -18°C, gear oil specification API GL-5 SAE 90;
- at ambient temperatures below -18°C, gear oil specification API GL-5 SAE 80;
Examination
Transfer case
The oil level in the transfer case must only be checked for vehicles with all-wheel drive.
Put the car in a horizontal position on the goats.
Check the transfer box for leaks.
Unscrew filler plug on transfer case -arrow-.
Use your finger to check the oil level in the transfer case. The oil level should be at the level of the lower edge of the filler hole. If necessary, top up the transmission oil level through the filler hole.
Screw in the filler plug and tighten to 60 Nm.
Lower the car.
Note: An oil change in the transfer case is not required.
Main gear front axle
The oil level in the main gear of the front axle must be checked only for vehicles with all-wheel drive.
Put the car in a horizontal position on the goats.
Check the front axle final drive for leaks.
Remove filler plug -arrow-.
Use your finger to check the oil level in the front axle final drive. The oil level should be at the level of the lower edge of the filler hole. If necessary, top up the transmission oil level through the filler hole.
Screw in the filler plug and tighten to 45 Nm.
Lower the car.
Note: An oil change in the front axle final drive is not required.
Main gear of the rear axle
Put the car in a horizontal position on the goats.
Check rear axle final drive for leaks.
Unscrew the filler plug.
Use your finger to check the oil level in the final drive of the rear axle. The oil level should be at the level of the filler hole, not less than 5 mm from its edge. If necessary, top up the transmission oil level through the filler hole.
Screw in the filler plug and tighten to 45 Nm.
Lower the car.
Note: An oil change in the final drive of the rear axle is not required.
