Checking the brake fluid level

            0

The compensation tank with brake fluid is located in the engine compartment. The tank has 2 chambers, one for each brake circuit. The screw cap has a ventilation hole that must not be closed.

The expansion tank is made of transparent material so that the brake fluid level can be checked from the outside at any time. In some car models, in addition, if the brake fluid level is too low, a warning indicator lights up on the instrument panel. But, despite this, it is advisable to monitor the fluid level visually approximately every 4 weeks.

The liquid level should be no higher than the MAX mark and not lower than the MIN·mark.

Add only new brake fluid that meets the SUPER DOT 4 or FORD ESD-M6C57A specification.

Due to worn brake linings, the brake fluid level drops slightly - this is normal.

If the level in the reservoir drops sharply in a short time, then this indicates a loss of brake fluid.

In this case, it is necessary to immediately look for a leak. As a rule, the reason lies in the worn cuffs of the wheel brake cylinders. For safety reasons, the brake system should be checked by a workshop.
