Attention: Noises that occur when the seat belt is retracted are functionally caused. With disturbing noises, the seat belt is only replaced. Under no circumstances should oil or grease be used to eliminate noise. The automatic seat belt retractor must not be disassembled as the pre-compressed spring may pop out. Danger of accident!
Pull the seat belt fully out and check for broken fibers. Damage can be caused, for example, by pinching the belt or melting it with a burning cigarette. In this case, replace the belt.
If there are scuffs without broken fibers, the belt does not need to be replaced.
If the belt runs hard, check that it is not twisted, if necessary, remove the lining from the B-pillar and route the belt correctly.
If the automatic seat belt retractor does not function, replace the belt
Clean the belt webbing only with soap and water, never use solvents or chemical cleaners.
