Attention! Vehicles with power steering systems have two V-belts that are tensioned at the same time.
1. Loosen the alternator mounting bolts.
2. Tilt the alternator away from the engine to tension the V-belt.
3. Measure the belt tension using a special tool or measure the deflection of the largest length of the belt between the pulleys (see subsection 12.1).
4. Tighten the preload adjusting clamp bolt first, then the front lower mounting bolt, and finally the alternator lower mounting rear bolt.
5. Re-check the tension of the V-belt and, if necessary, repeat the steps described.
