Checking the coolant level
At least once a week, when the engine is off and cold, the coolant level in the expansion tank should be checked (2, see fig. The engine compartment of a car with a gasoline engine).
The expansion tank is located on the right side of the engine compartment. The coolant level, visible through the transparent walls of the tank, must be at the height of the sign "max". If necessary, replenish the amount of coolant after unscrewing the plug in the expansion tank.
Attention! When the engine is hot, the cooling system is under pressure. Therefore, first you should unscrew the plug a little, wait until the pressure in the expansion tank equalizes with atmospheric pressure, and then unscrew the plug completely.
Control bulb of the minimum level of a cooling liquid
In some equipment versions, in the middle part of the front panel, under the middle nozzles of the ventilation system, there is a control light that lights up if the coolant level drops below the minimum. The amount of coolant should be replenished immediately, following the instructions above.
Checking the condition and tightness of pipeline connections
Every 10,000 km of the car's run, the condition and tightness of the connections of the cooling system pipelines should be visually checked.
Coolant replacement
Flushing the cooling system and replacing the coolant is recommended every two years.
