Diesel engine disassembly

1. Remove turbocharger together with exhaust manifold.

2. Drain oil from engine.

3. Remove drive gear and clutch disc.

4. Remove flywheel from crankshaft.

5. Remove the coolant pump drive V-belt.

6. Remove the alternator drive V-belt.

7. Remove cylinder head (see subsection 3.2.1.4.2).

8. Block the crankshaft and unscrew the crankshaft pulley bolt.

9. Remove pulley from crankshaft.

10. Remove fuel pump (see subsection 3.2.1.3.3).

11. Remove generator.

12. Remove air filter.

13. Remove oil pump.

14. Remove the pulley from the intermediate shaft.

15. Remove the O-ring from the intermediate shaft.

16. Unscrew the two bolts securing the intermediate shaft support flange and remove the intermediate shaft.

17. Remove coolant pump.

18. Remove oil pan.

19. Remove pulley from crankshaft.

20. Remove the oil pickup screen from the oil pump.

21. Label and remove the connecting rod caps.

22. After marking the connecting rods, remove them together with the pistons from the engine block.

23. Label and remove main bearing caps.

24. Remove crankshaft.

25. Remove and mark the main bearing shells and crankshaft thrust washers.
