Attention! Only the difference compared to the ONS engine is shown.

CVH engine crank mechanism

1 - piston with pin and piston rings, 2 - connecting rod, 3 - connecting rod bearings, 4 - main bearing shells, 5 - crankshaft thrust washers, 5 - oil pump, 6 - oil return line, 7 - gasket, 8 - supply line oil to the pump, 9 - gasket

After removing the halves of the main bearing shells and the crankshaft thrust half rings, the oil separator together with its spring should be removed from the crankcase ventilation system.

Removing the oil separator from the crankcase ventilation system of the CVH engine

Removal and installation of the oil pump

1. Drain the oil from the oil pan.

2. Remove the timing cover and toothed belt.

3. Remove the V-pulley, pulley and oil pan from the crankshaft.

4. Unscrew the oil pump mounting bolts and remove the pump.

5. Wash the oil pan and oil strainer, and then follow the steps in reverse order to the removal process.

6. Put on the toothed belt, paying attention to the coincidence of the signs on the crankshaft and camshaft.

Removing the coolant pump

1. Disconnect the ground wire from the battery and drain the liquid from the cooling system.

2. Remove the alternator drive V-belt.

3. Rotate the crankshaft until the TDC marks of the 1st cylinder coincide on the crankshaft pulley and the casing of the timing system drive, and then remove the casing of the timing system drive.

4. Loosen the tensioner and remove the toothed belt.

5. Disconnect the flexible coolant line to the radiator and the coolant line to the vehicle interior heating circuit.

6. Remove toothed belt tensioner.

7. Unscrew the four bolts securing the coolant pump to the engine block and remove the coolant pump.

Installing the coolant pump

1. Clean the gasket seating surface on the coolant pump and engine block.

2. Install a new gasket and screw the water pump to the engine block.

3. Install the toothed belt tensioner.

4. Put on the toothed belt.

5. Install the timing cover.

6. Put on the alternator drive V-belt and tension it.

7. Connect the elastic pipes of the cooling system, fill the cooling system and check its tightness.

Other information regarding the technical characteristics, adjustment and repair of the engine is in subsection 2.1 and in subsection 3.1.3.1.
