General information
All models are equipped with front disc and rear drum brakes controlled by a hydraulic system with vacuum boost.
The front brakes are a single piston floating caliper system. Rear drum brakes - leading / tacking with a hinged shoe. The wear of the front brake pads is automatically compensated during operation. The rear brake drums are also automatically adjusted.
Front wheel drive vehicles tend to wear front brake pads faster than rear wheel drive vehicles. It is important to check the brake pads frequently before they wear out and damage the disc.
All models are equipped with a cable operated parking brake linked to the rear brakes. The hydraulic system is double piping with double brake master cylinder and diagonal hydraulic circuits.
In the event of failure of the pipeline, brake or seal, the second half of the brake system remains in working condition. The system also includes a pressure control valve (in body type "station wagon" there are two), which reduce the blocking of the rear wheel during heavy braking.
Safety
Use only DOTS type brake fluid Pads and linings contain fabrics containing asbestos. Inhalation of asbestos particles is hazardous to health. Therefore, when working with elements of the brake system, carefully wipe the parts with a special cleaner.
