Brake light switch — removal and installation

Withdrawal

1. Remove the dashboard.

2. Locate the switch near the top of the brake pedal and disconnect the electrical connector (see picture).



3. Remove the rod retainer clip and nylon washer from the brake pedal stud and pull the rod far enough away from the switch outer hole to access the stud. Pull up on the switch to remove it.

Installation

4. Install the switch so that it does not coincide with the vertical axis of the bar, and the groove on the inside of the switch hits the pedal pin. Slide the stem and switch back onto the stud, then install the nylon washer and locking clip.

5. Connect electrical wiring.

6. Install the subdashboard.

7. Check the operation of the light elements of the brake.
