Note: in chapter 1 information on maintenance of models of 1989 and earlier is given.
1. 1990 and later models are equipped with sealed rear wheel bearings that require no maintenance. Replace them in the event of noise in operation or significant play (detailed information - in chapter 1 in the suspension and steering check section).
2. Loosen the wheel nuts, raise the vehicle, put it on stands Block the front wheels and remove the rear wheel.
3. Remove rear brake drum or disc (see chapter 9).
4. Remove the grease cap from the center of the hub. Throw away the cap.
5. Unscrew the hub lock nut and remove the hub and bearing block from the knuckle. Determine whether the new bearing can be pressed into the old hub or whether the entire hub block should be replaced by the degree of wear on the hub.
6. Installation of the hub and bearing block is generally carried out in the reverse order of disassembly. Tighten the hub lock nut to the correct torque and install a new grease cap.
